Cover Letter

Greetings,

I have a deep interest in small classes, one-on-one tutoring, and online teaching. I prefer to have a more personal approach to learning.

I'm a native Canadian English speaker and a native German speaker. My first language is English, and my second language is German.

In my ESL experience, I have taught students of all ages from kindergarten to adults. I have 20 years of teaching experience. In my first 6 years, I taught English in Taiwan. For the next 14 years, I taught English in South Korea. From 1978 - 2002 I focused on techology for 24 years. 2.5 years in electronics, and 21.5 years in computer technology.

For my education, in 1985, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and business. In 2010, I completed a MA-TESOL. I have 120-hour TESOL certificate and a 60-hour TEFL certificate. I have additional certificates in music, English, alternative health and computer technology.

My teaching style varies depending on the students that I teach. There is no best method for teaching English as a foreign language. The age of your students, the level of English being taught, and the size of the classroom are determine the method.

I am honest, flexible, patient, professional, a collaborator, sharing and caring. I will teach students how to learn. I will give them confidence, and I will help them with outside resources.
